God's Coffee:
A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each other's cups.
Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us." God brews the coffee, not the cups.......... Enjoy your coffee!"The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything." Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Share your Happiness:
A few years ago, I had a fine instrument, an esraj from India. I loved to play devotional music on it. But a visitor one day admired it. Unhestitatingly I gave it to him. Years later someone asked me, "Weren't you just a little sorry?"
"Never for a moment!" I replied. Sharing one's happiness with others only expands one's happiness.

Don't Feed the Ego:
Do not give the ego breakfast in bed; do not pack it a bag lunch; do not fix its dinner; do not give it pocket money for buying it snacks; do not even give it a glass of water. Slowly, surely, the ego will lose weight, until one fine day it will be nothing but a thin ghost of its former self.

The Blue Pearl:
The most wonderful light Baba saw in meditation was called the Blue Pearl. It was a brilliant point of blue light no bigger than a sesame seed. The first time he saw it, it shot out of his eyes with the speed of lightning, illuminating everything in every direction and then went in again. Over time, as it appeared to Baba, its radiance increased and as Baba became absorbed in it, love streamed through him. Then, as he neared the end of his long, courageous journey toward enlightenment, he had a vision in which the light of the Blue Pearl began to grow. It assumed the shape of an egg, and then that of a man. This was the Blue Person, the Lord Himself, Witness of all, shimmering and resplendent in his divinity. ...Then the Blue Being spoke to Baba.
"I see everything from everywhere," He told him. "I see with My eyes. I see with My nose. I have eyes everywhere." ...Later Baba was to see the Blue Pearl expand to become the shining, blazing, infinite Light of Consciousness. He saw the earth being born from this Light, just as surely as he could see smoke rising from a fire. (68-69) "A Perfect Life: The Story of Swami Muktananda Paramahansa" by Margaret Simpson. Wisdom in 13?
Every 13 days, a trecena, of the Mayan calendar, if you elect to subscribe, you will see a newsletter in your mailbox. The Mayan calendar, the Tzolkin, according to various interpretations, is based upon the beginning of the universe and the solar system's relationship to the Milky Way Galaxy which in turn is spiraling around a "central sun" with which we are soon to align. This 13 day cycle will align you with the Mayan calendar, creating a link to the great event of 2012 when many cycles come to an end, and we take a big leap up the spiral. How that will manifest is unclear, but the acceleration of consciousness is happening now as the Tzolkin predicts. We are in for interesting times and adopting the 13, my lucky number, is one way I hope to harmonize with this event.
*Note: The date for this Newsletter is Wed. 8th November ... or  5 Chik'chan 18 Sak (vitality, passion, sensing, body wisdom, motivation, desire, instinct, creativity, serpent, kundalini, integration, purification, intimacy.
